CleanFutures aims to address the issue of waste management in underserved communities through a multifaceted approach that encompasses handbooks, workshops, clean-up drives, and fundraisers. Through these action-led interventions, we hope to improve the lives of those in socioeconomically disadvantaged communities.
Through our handbooks, manuals, workshops, and fun bin stickers that simplify waste segregation, we aim to educate our diverse community members about proper waste segregation practices, outlining the different types of waste and the processes used for their safe disposal. Moreover, we aim to enable our community to practice these techniques in a hands-on manner through a guided clean-up drive. We believe that if everyone understands how simple and easy waste management is through these interventions, they would be motivated to do the same in their homes.
Our goal is also to expand our reach by creating a network of young ambassadors who spread awareness about waste management and segregation throughout the community. To achieve this, we will develop a comprehensive resource to help youth establish their waste management clubs at schools and NGOs. Finally, to fund these efforts, we will be organizing an online fundraising event.
Through this multidisciplinary approach focused on education and advocacy, CleanFutures envisions a society where waste management and segregation are an integral part of daily life.
